Acronyms
The abbreviations with lines through them are ones that are still in use but are discouraged by Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP). The ISMP recommends the use of the correct words instead. Many of these discouraged abbreviations are also on the Joint Commission’s Official “Do Not Use” List of Abbreviations.
